Responsibilities:
St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children is seeking a Medical Director/Outpatient Pediatrician for our Center for the Urban Child - Pediatric Practice on our hospital campus in Philadelphia, PA. The Medical Director will direct the clinical activities of the practice, physicians, and nurse practitioners. Candidates will have proven experience in the areas of practice administration, mentoring, quality improvement, physician mentoring/counseling, and development/implementation of policies and procedures. Previous experience in the areas of medical practice design and change management is a plus. The Center for the Urban Child is a large academic practice with ~ 75 pediatric residents, ~20 providers, and over 50 support staff. This position carries a dual appointment with the Drexel University College of Medicine and access to many of their resources. Alongside primary care the CUC features a robust newborn clinic, a walk-in sick clinic, and integrated pediatric care with social workers; lactation consultants, imbedded behavioral health; a medical Legal Partnership; community health workers and more. We work side by side with the community members of North Philadelphia/Kensington and work tirelessly to address the social needs and social influences of health of this section of Philadelphia.
Position Highlights:
Oversee the daily clinical operations of medical staff
Provide leadership for operational issues
Policy design/implementation
Be an active physician within the practice
Develop practice-oriented education
Mentor/Train clinical staff and collaborate with the office of GME
Active role in Quality Improvement
Recruitment of clinical staff - physicians & nurse practitioners
Manage expectations, duties and activity of physicians and nurse practitioners
Schedule: Monday - Friday

MD or DO
MD or DO
Unrestricted PA medical license
Graduate from an ACGME Pediatric Residency
Board Certified - Pediatrics
5+ years clinical experience in a pediatric o/p practice
3 years' experience in practice leadership & change management
