PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY:
 
FAMILY PRACTICE
 
Opportunity for a Board Certified/Eligible Family Practice Physician to practice in a highly
desirable community in Northern California located midway between San Francisco and
Sacramento and 30 minutes from the Napa wine country.
 
NorthBay Healthcare is offering a very competitive financial support package that will be crafted
to attract the right candidate. Outpatient clinic setting will be located in either the Fairfield or
Vacaville Center for Primary Care. Call is limited and for triage purposes only. Hospitalists
admit and care for patient.

SPECIFIC POSITION
 
Outpatient Primary Care setting for Salaried Independent Contracted Physician. Benefit
package includes reimbursement of Medical Malpractice Insurance, four and one-half
days work week, for forty seven weeks per year. Integrated electronic medical records
system. Extensive community based specialist referral network.
 
NORTHBAY HEALTHCARE
 
NorthBay Healthcare, one of the few remaining independent, non-profit hospital
systems in Northern California, operates two hospitals: 132 bed NorthBay Medical
Center, and 50 bed Vaca Valley Hospital. Medical Hospitalists, including on-site
Intensivists provide inpatient coverage of hospitalized patients. Hospitalist programs in
Orthopedic Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology and General Surgery, provide for
Emergency Department call coverage.
 
The systems include medical/surgical, intensive care and step-down units. NorthBay
Medical is a designated Level III Trauma Center.
 
Following the success of the Maternal and Child Health service, NorthBay established
its second keynote service, the NorthBay Cancer Center, in 1988. Certified as a
Community Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons, the Cancer Center
includes a state-of-the-art radiation therapy unit as well as a hospital based medical
oncology and infusion service.
 
NorthBay has launched its third center of excellence, the NorthBay Heart and Vascular
Center, a full-service cardiovascular service including cardiac surgery and interventional
cardiology. The NorthBay Medical Center Emergency Department is accredited as a
Chest Pain Center.
 Committed to ensuring an adequate supply of highly qualified primary care and
specialty physicians to meet the needs of its rapidly growing community, NorthBay
established a hospital-based primary care practice in 2002. NorthBay currently
operates four Centers for Primary Care staffed by Internal Medicine, Family Practice
and Pediatric Physicians. This provides a built in referral system.
 
NorthBay Healthcare and its surgeons have developed a state-of-the-art ambulatory
surgery center on the VacaValley Hospital campus. This project is a joint venture
between the hospital and all local surgeons. Several shares have been retained for
interested physicians who are new to the community.

NorthBay Healthcare draws patients from the Northern Solano County communities of
Vacaville and Fairfield, a non-Kaiser base of approximately 135,000 people. The
population is somewhat younger than surrounding areas, though in recent years there
has been marked growth in middle age and older groups. With an annual growth rate of
1.5% per year, Northern Solano County is one of the faster growing areas in Northern
California. A solid middle class community with one of California’s lowest uninsured
rates, Solano County ranks 9th in the state in median income. An excellent location,
affordable housing and an expanding job base fuel the growth of this desirable
community.
