Job Description

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Physician Extender to join a well respected practice located in coastal North Carolina. The practice has two offices, one located in Jacksonville, NC and the second office in Wilmington, NC. The extender would practice primarily at the Jacksonville but would also spend one to two days a week in the Wilmington office. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30  to 4:30 with a one hour break for lunch. Call is only one weekend a month, that being phone call. Excellent Benefits package with Health, Dental and Disability. One week for CME and $1500.00. 401 Retirement plan with employee matching. Generous vacation package also. Competitive salary BOE. This is a contract position renewable after one year.

This is a well established practice with a high volume of patients. The physician sees approx 20 patients daily. The practice does have some testing in-house, CAT scan, ERG and their own sleep lab. Great support staff and a collegial atmosphere with an extender already on staff. This position is for immediate hire.

The ideal candidate will have 1 plus year of experience and would prefer a neurology background but not required. The candidate should have an interest in neurology and a desire to expand their knowledge base.

Candidate could live in between Wilmington and Jacksonville. The City of Jacksonville is the commercial hub of Onslow County  and home to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and  Marine Corps Air Station New River . The City has grown rapidly since 1941 when Camp Lejeune was established, and possesses a rich history dating back to 1731. (see below)

Some 81,612 people make the city their home. The once quiet farming community has grown into the business, retail, medical, banking and cultural center for Onslow County.

It has become a popular destination because of its moderate, four-season climate, historic preservation district, annual events such as Wilmington Riverfest and the Azalea Festival and numerous championship golf courses. In addition, the nearby Wrightsville, Carolina and Kure Beaches are a mecca for boaters, surfers, sunbathers, beachcombers and seafood lovers and round out the wide variety of attractions in the Wilmington, NC area.
